Doug Stevenson's profile

Carlisle Old Home Day

When he isn’t busy as the president of RBS Strategies, LLC, Douglas “Doug” A.G. Stevenson has a history of community service in and around Carlisle, MA. In fact, Doug Stevenson received a Community Service Award from the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his volunteer work with organizations such as the Old Home Day Committee.

After a failed attempt to establish an “Old Home Week” in 1909, Carlisle celebrated its first Old Home Day on July 31, 1912. Although earlier historical records of this annual event are spotty, it has certainly been a major local attraction since the mid-1970s.

Over the years, Old Home Day attendees have grown to love its Great Parade, which proceeds up Carlisle’s Bedford Road, and its kids games, which feature competitions such as sack races and egg tosses. More recent additions to Old Home Day include the Williams Be Yourself Flat Brimmed Parkour Challenge and the Carlisle Music Festival.
